Treat nails with care, do not use them as tools, think of them as jewels, using them as tools will damage the enhancement and natural nail.
Always wear protective gloves when doing gardening and household chores, cleaning products and nails being soaked in water can damage them.
Do not pick, peel, full or forcibly remove the gel or nail tip, avoiding tapping with the nail extension, picking them off will remove layers from the natural nail bed leaving damaged natural nails.
If the nail enhancement is lifting or damaged and this is ignored it could lead to a bacterial infection, do not pick it off as damage will be done to natural nail, make an appointment as soon as possible for therapist to check it over and repair.
Massage cuticle oil into the cuticle area of nail at least once daily, this nourishes the natural nail, encouraging healthy nail growth.
Always dry hands thoroughly and moisturise hands and cuticles.
If applying nail polish over gel use a base coat first to avoid staining.
Remove polish with non-acetone nail polish remover.
Acetone can dissolve the nail enhancement and dull the shiny finish ruining them.
Acetone should only be used for removals.
Be careful when near extreme heat and naked flames as this can cause nail extension to melt.
Tinted lotions, suntan creams hair products and highly coloured foods can discolour nail enhancement so thoroughly wash hands after use or wear gloves to protect them.
Do not miss your regular maintenance appointments to ensure nails stay looking their best.
Infills should be done every 2 to 3 weeks.
If any adverse reactions occur: rash, redness, inflammation of any kind around the nails please contact me immediately.
REMOVALS
Removals are best done by therapist but can be done at home with great care and following the guidelines provided.
You will need a nail file, orange stick, cotton wool pads, tinfoil, acetone nail polish remover and cuticle oil.
If nails tip enhancements are long cut down to tips of fingers using nails clippers
Use the nail file to gently buff the shine from the enhancement, this allows the acetone to penetrate the gel
Soak cotton wool pad with acetone and place on nail, wrap tinfoil around the cotton pad and finger
Leave for appox 10 – 15 minutes.
The orange stick can be used to gently push the nail tip and gel from the nail plate.
This could come away easily, if not soak for a further 5 minutes.
Cuticle oil should be massaged into the cuticle and nail plate to nourish the nail as the acetone will have dehydrated the nail and surrounding skin after removal and daily to rehydrate the nail .
